Cottage: A wardrobe staple cardigan
Cottage is a classic throw-on-over-anything relaxed fit cardigan. Worked from the top down entirely in one piece, the design features raglan construction, a button band worked as you go with a slipped stitch selvage, and classic 1x1 ribbing on the cuffs and hem. The pattern includes 9 sizes and an optional adjustment for customizing the sleeve length.

YARN SPOTLIGHT: Rowan Lane Fibres Repose
It has be an absolute treat to collaborate with Leya of Rowan Lane Fibres for this design. I used their Repose base, which is a fingering weight 50% corriedale/50% mohair blend with a loose ply and subtle halo.
While Cottage features a very loose gauge for fingering weight — 20 sts over 4”/10cm — the halo from the mohair fills in the space between stitches and the corriedale gives this otherwise airy fabric structure and hold. It is a gorgeous, unique effect made all the more special by Leya’s impeccably curated botanically-derived colors. A perfect pattern/yarn match for a timeless heirloom knit!
